The Charger Baseball Team took down Bullock Creek in game one and then disposed of Swan Valley in 5 innings to win the 2021 Tom Roberts Invitational Tournament.  In Game one, John Szajenko pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits.  Jack Bakus and Trent Johnson combined relief efforts to close out Bullock Creek and giving Dow a 6-2 victory.  The Chargers were led offensively by Jack Bakus who collected a pair of hits including a 3 run homer.  Logan McCoy and Daniel Kowalczyk each added a pair of hits and RBI's.

Game number two saw the Chargers score early and often and a great pitching performance by Jay Worsley to defeat Swan Valley and capture the championship.  Worsley only gave up one hit on the day and pitched a complete game shutout for a 10-0 win.  Dow offense was led by Daniel Kowalczyk with 3 hits and 3 RBI's.  Logan McCoy also added 3 hits and 2 RBI's and Jack Bakus added a pair of hits and a couple of RBI's.

"We got really good pitching today and our situational hitting added up to a lot of runs today.  John and Jay were great on the mound and kept our opposition off balance all day.  We must build on this and keep the momentum as we have a lot of games in not too many days coming up." Said Coach Juday.

The Chargers will host Midland High in a doubleheader on Monday May 17th at 4:00.
